Terms and Conditions

An instruction to carry out work, whether written or verbal, will be taken as acceptance of the terms and conditions detailed below.

Installation Work

A. All electrical installation work will comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and any amendments in force at the time of the works.

B. All work will comply with applicable Building Regulations.

C. Certificates and notifications issued apply only to work carried out by Precision Electrical Services Ltd.

D. Where works involve extending or modifying existing circuits, it is assumed they are in a safe condition. Any faults identified will be brought to your attention and charged as additional work.

E. No alterations will be carried out to rubber insulated (VIR) or lead-sheathed cables.

F. Where floor coverings are lifted, care will be taken to avoid damage and refit to a reasonable standard; however, a specialist may be required for full reinstatement.

G. Unless agreed otherwise, wall chases will be left unfilled. Plastering and decorating are excluded.

H. Whilst we work to a clean standard, some dust is unavoidable. Sensitive equipment should be removed or protected prior to works.

Consumer Units

A. Installation is subject to the existing installation passing inspection and testing.

B. Any unsafe faults must be rectified before works can proceed.

C. Upgrades to main bonding (gas, water, oil) may be required and are not included unless stated.

Electrical Safety Checks (EICR)

A. Clear access to the consumer unit is required.

B. Prepayment meters must have sufficient credit.

C. Power will be interrupted during testing.

D. Additional charges may apply if testing cannot be completed within the allocated time.

E. All sensitive equipment must be unplugged beforehand.

F. If the installation is deemed unsafe, work will stop until further action is agreed.

G. Minor cosmetic damage around fittings may occur during inspection.

H. Reports will only be issued once full payment has been received.

Exclusions

A. Moving furniture or clearing access is not included. If access prevents works, a minimum charge of £126 including VAT will apply.

B. Whilst care is taken, we are not responsible for losses caused by appliances not being reconnected. It is the client’s responsibility to check all items are operational after completion.

Pricing

A.

A quotation is a fixed price for the specified works only. Additional works require a revised or new quotation.

B. An estimate is an approximate cost and may change if further issues are identified.

C. Prices assume clear and uninterrupted access to site.

D. Works are assumed to be carried out Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00 unless agreed otherwise.

E. A full day is 7 hours labour, a half day is 4 hours.

F. Additional works will be charged at time and materials.

G. Quotations are valid for 30 days. Acceptance confirms agreement to these terms.

Risk and Title of Goods

A. Risk in goods passes to the client upon delivery to site.

B. All goods remain the property of Precision Electrical Services Ltd until paid in full.

Warranty

A. Installation work is guaranteed for 2 years from the invoice date.

B. Materials supplied are covered by manufacturer warranty (typically 12 months unless stated otherwise).

C. Warranty excludes misuse, third-party damage, wear and tear, and consumables (e.g. lamps, fuses).

D. Damage caused by third-party trades is the client’s responsibility.

Payment Terms

A. Unless otherwise agreed in writing before work begins, full payment is due upon satisfactory completion of the specified works or within 7 days of invoice date.

B. Projects over £1,000 may require a deposit prior to works commencing.

C. For larger projects or projects involving separate first and second fix stages, staged payments may apply as follows:

  • 30% deposit required to secure the booking and commencement of works
  • 30% payment due upon satisfactory completion of first fix works
  • 30% payment due upon satisfactory completion of second fix works
  • Remaining 10% balance due upon satisfactory completion, final testing and handover of the project

D. Precision Electrical Services Ltd reserves the right to request stage payments for larger ongoing projects where materials and labour costs are significant.

E. Payment methods accepted are bank transfer or card payment unless agreed otherwise in writing.

F. In the event of non-payment, we reserve the right to instruct debt recovery services. Any associated recovery costs, interest or legal fees may be payable by the client.

G. All materials and goods supplied remain the property of Precision Electrical Services Ltd until paid for in full.

Waste

A. Waste removal is not included unless agreed in writing.

Clear Messaging and Consumer Information

A. Precision Electrical Services Ltd will provide quotations, invoices and communications in clear and understandable language.

B. Any exclusions, limitations, assumptions or additional costs will be clearly identified within the quotation where applicable.

C. Customers will be informed of any significant changes to the scope of works or pricing before additional works are carried out.

D. Estimated timeframes provided are based on information available at the time and may be subject to change due to circumstances outside of our control including supplier delays, hidden defects or additional remedial works.

E. Precision Electrical Services Ltd will aim to respond to customer queries and concerns promptly and professionally.

F. Nothing within these terms and conditions affects the customer’s statutory rights.
